Insurance
Insurance is an economic and social system designed to face the risks which a person, group of persons, an entire family, institution, commercial or non-commercial company may be exposed to, and to minimize the consequences of any loss or damage to the life and the health of the person as well as its properties, including products, goods, real estate, transportation, luggage, and projects, as well as services and products of an abstract nature such as books, patents and ideas.
The insurance sector is regulated and supervised by the Insurance Authority of the United Arab Emirates. Many companies provide various types of insurance services:
• Life insurance
• Health insurance
• Real estate insurance
• Third-party insurance (including vehicles, personal accident insurance, workers’ insurance against work injuries, cash insurance)
Ras Al Khaimah Center for Statistics and Studies provides statistics and indicators about the insurance activity.
